How the process works
Eight steps from application to an active territory — including what 4Square covers and where third parties make their own decisions.
From application to active territory
Eight steps. Some depend on third parties — notably banks — so timing varies, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Submit an online application
Tell us about yourself, the territory you are interested in, and your availability. The application takes most people about fifteen minutes.
4Square reviews fit and territory availability
We assess whether the role suits you and whether the territory you want is available. Not every application is approved, and not every territory is open.
Approved applicants supply identity and formation information
Approved applicants provide the identity and entity information required for LLC formation and bank onboarding. This information is handled securely and used only for those purposes.
4Square covers the ordinary LLC state filing cost
For approved applicants, 4Square covers the ordinary state filing cost to establish the approved LLC used for the business.
LLC details and EIN are recorded
Once formed, the LLC information and EIN are added to the platform. These become the basis of your Regional Distribution Agreement.
You open the required business banking
You open the required U.S. business checking relationships. We provide a factual summary of your business to support the conversation, but the bank makes its own decision.
Your Regional Distribution Agreement is generated
Your individualised agreement is generated from your entity, territory and economic details, and provided for review and signature.
The agreement is executed and the territory activated
Once executed, your territory is activated and you begin as the local customer-contact point for your market.
On banking. 4Square provides information and coordinates the workflow, and will give you a factual operating summary of your business to take to your bank appointment. We do not, and cannot, guarantee that a bank will approve an account. Banks make their own decisions under their own criteria.
